Miami Scholars

The Miami Scholars Program targets law school applicants from across the United States who, in addition to excellent academic achievement and strong LSAT scores, have a demonstrated interest in public service. Each Miami Scholar is awarded a $25,000 per year Law School tuition scholarship. Miami Scholar awards are renewed if a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or better is maintained.

HOPE Fellows

Since 2000, over 60 HOPE Fellows have worked across the globe with non-profit, public interest and NGOs, serving those most in need. HOPE Fellows secure an unpaid internship with a public interest agency and create a new project designed to address an unmet need. Upon return to Miami Law students are charged with educating their peers and the community by designing a project to involve Miami Law students in advocacy related to the Fellow’s area of advocacy. Projects have included the development of community-wide initiatives, panel presentations and advocacy programs. HOPE Fellows have developed from a handful of local placements to include international placements focusing on global advocacy initiatives in countries such as Tanzania, Rwanda, Lebanon, England, and China. Our students have worked to address the unmet needs of children, homeless individuals, victims of hate crimes and discrimination, women and families who are victims of abuse and provide immigration assistance. They have worked to provide access to education, voting rights and housing.
